Biocode Privacy Policy

Biocode is an iPhone app that shows the health data already on your iPhone. This policy explains what the app does with that data. The short version: Biocode doesn't collect any data. Everything stays on your iPhone.

What Biocode reads

With your permission, Biocode reads data from Apple Health on your iPhone: for example heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, activity, workouts and their routes, body measurements, blood pressure, glucose, cycle tracking, State of Mind, mindful minutes, nutrition, ECG recordings and heart notifications. If you allow it separately, it also reads lab results from Health Records and the medications you've added in the Health app.

You choose exactly which types Biocode can read, and you can change that at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Biocode.

Biocode never writes to Apple Health and never changes or deletes your health data.

How it's used

Biocode uses this data only to show it to you: charts, your usual ranges, trends, widgets, Siri answers and, if you turn them on, notifications. All reading and calculating happens on your iPhone.

What Biocode stores

On your iPhone only:

• A cache of daily values calculated from Apple Health, so screens open quickly. It can be rebuilt from Apple Health at any time and is excluded from backups.
• A small summary for the widgets (such as last night's values), in storage shared only with Biocode's own widget extension.
• Your settings, pinned metrics, recently viewed metrics, and any readings you chose to hide from charts.

Your settings may be included in your iPhone's own backups, as they are for any app. Deleting Biocode deletes everything it stored.

What Biocode doesn't do

• It doesn't send your data anywhere. The app has no server and contains no networking code.
• It has no account, and no sign-in.
• It has no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party software development kits.
• It doesn't sell or share data, because it never has any to share.
• It doesn't use iCloud.
• It doesn't use your health data for advertising, marketing or data mining, or share it with anyone, as Apple's rules for HealthKit apps require.

Notifications

Notifications are off until you turn them on in Biocode's settings. They're created on your iPhone and contain the same information Biocode shows in the app.

Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight

If you ask Siri for a value, Biocode answers on your iPhone. Spotlight indexes only the names of metrics, never your values.

This website

The Biocode website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and has no forms. Like any website, its host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

Children

Biocode isn't directed to children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
